THE MERIDIAN CLUB SERVICES & ACTIVITIES
No crowds, automobile traffic, television, ringing telephones or other irritating features of the fast-paced lives we all lead back home. You won’t find parasailers, jet skis or vendors hawking goods on the beach. Some of our guests have been coming to The Meridian Club for over 20 years just to enjoy the serenity we offer while they relax and unwind at a private beach cottage. We will never change our style just to be like all the other resorts. We realize, however, that some guests like to integrate a little, or even a lot, more recreational activity into their vacations. For those people, there are a surprisingly diverse range of Turks and Caicos activities available to choose from without disturbing those who want their privacy and quietude.

THE BISTRO The Meridian Club Bistro is located on the main floor of the clubhouse, with the lounge and bar area located on the second floor. Offering spectacular views of the pool, beach and breathtaking sunsets, the upstairs lounge is a delightful venue for the daily social hour. Dinner by candlelight in The Meridian Club Bistro, almost always featuring fresh catch of the day, follows in the open-air dining room or dining by your private beach out under the stars if you choose. Chef David’s multi-course tasting menu features fresh seafood – locally caught ocean fish, lobster and conch prepared in various styles – as well as choices such as steak, chops, rack of lamb, duck and Cornish hen. Vegetarian meals and special requests are happily accommodated. Desserts are a specialty at The Bistro – always freshly prepared, always a variety to select from and wonderfully presented. Coffee and cordials are available after your meal.

SHELLING & BEACH COMBING Sand dollars and lovely seashells can be found along our beach, named the best in the Caribbean. Sand Dollar Point, a half mile from the Club, is a favorite spot to search at low tide.

SNORKELING Daily snorkeling trips are conducted by the Club, weather permitting. Snorkeling gear (masks, fins, and snorkels) is available free of charge. Since you will be skimming the reef in a national park, we ask you to “take only pictures, kill only time, leave only bubbles.” Spear fishing and underwater collecting are forbidden by law.

SWIMMING The sea or the freshwater pool? It’s your choice. If you choose the sea, be sure to keep an eye out for a dolphin swimming near the shore. Many guests have had the exhilarating experience of swimming with JoJo, a wild dolphin with an affinity for humans.

PADDLEBOARDING Like most activities at The Meridian Club, paddle boarding is available for guests at no charge. If you need a quick lesson, ask for Sherwyn in the mornings near the pool area.

JOGGING & WALKING Pine Cay is an 800-acre island with over two miles of pristine beach, plenty of space and solitude to walk, jog or even try a challenging run.

TENNIS Racquets and balls are available at the reception desk at no charge. A sign-up sheet is available for reserving a court time. The midday sun and afternoon tropical breezes make early morning the best time to play.

BIKING Explore Pine Cay by peddling your way along the cart paths which crisscross the island. Bicycles are available free of charge for guest use and are located near the Club entrance.

SAND DOLLAR SPA Balinese massage is a highly evolved, distinctive form employing a combination of gentle stretches, deep tissue kneading, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and “qi” (energy) around your body, bringing relaxation and a sense of wellness. An ancient technique, related to the Ayurveda, the Indian holistic medical system, this type of massage is known to help with a wide range of ailments, including migraine, muscle and joint pain, sleep disorder, anxiety and depression, as well as allergies and breathing problems such as asthma which often are worsened by stress. The use of oils is calming and sensual and leaves you feeling calm and serene.

PINE CAY YOGA Calming, meditative and restorative. Pine Cay Yoga gives guests the gift of awareness, breath and precision. Yoga will improve your mind, body and life. Breath control is a part of all the exercises, followed by strength and flexibility. After class you will feel more focused and calm. Students can expect to experience a warm and caring yoga class that is both informative and precise as well as liberating and free flowing.
